Interior & Exterior Overlays

What are overlays you ask ?

To overlay means to cover the surface of something (a thing) with a coating. Concrete overlays can be used in many different areas and is flood proof flooring. Whether their purpose is for protecting or maintaining a concrete slab, pavement, or floor, they provide a new surface, extend the life of a structure, and eliminate the need for complete replacement. There are many different types of overlays, which include the following:

  • Stamped Overlays

Stamped overlays are similar to stamped concrete, but are much less time consuming and labor-intensive during installation. The overlay mix is applied by a gauge rake, for a uniform and smooth surface. It is then imprinted with stamps and/or textures. There are also special vertical stamps to overlay existing buildings or structures to resurface them, add some life, and make them look brand new. Stamping tools are available in many patterns, allowing the concrete to look more realistic like other building materials such as wood, marble, stone, brick, etc.

  • Spray-Deck

This type of overlay turn ordinary into extraordinary. This finish is sprayed evenly onto concrete with an air-powered sprayer for a smooth finish. However, if a textured surface is preferred, it can also be applied splatter fashion to create a surface with a slip-resistant texture. To add a more decorative measure, stencils can be used in the application process to create designs ranging from decorative borders to embossed motifs or tile patterns.

  • Texture-crete
